The Greater Merrimack Valley
Meeting All of your Sporting Event Requirements

The Merrimack Valley offers two premiere sporting venues: The Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell and the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Since its construction, the Tsongas Center has hosted a number of high-profile events including 2003 Fed Cup Tennis Tournament between the USA and the Czech Republic. Team USA, featuring the famous Williams Sisters and coached by tennis great Billie Jean King, was cheered on to victory at the Tsongas by over 12,000 spectators. The Arena also played host to the 2005 National Synchronized Skating Championships, involving over 110 teams consisting of over 2,000 skaters. This 8,000-seat arena is home to the University of Massachusetts Lowell River Hawks ice hockey team..

The Lowell Memorial Auditorium has also played an important part in Merrimack Valley Sports history. This 3,000-seat auditorium is where Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Rocky Marciano each won their first Golden Gloves title. Elaborate renovations have made this grand building convenient and flexible for large groups with its 25,000 square feet of exhibit space. One of the region's most affordable facilities, The Lowell Memorial Auditorium is easily reached from major highways and is fully air-conditioned and handicapped accessible. The Auditorium's staff includes professional security and technical personnel.

In addition to these two outstanding venues, the Greater Merrimack Valley also offers first-rate facilities at The Devens Complex in Ayer, the Martin Sports Complex In Lowell and the UMass Lowell Bellegarde Boathouse. These facilities are ideal for many sports including baseball, softball, rowing, soccer, and rugby.
